Giganews is proud to let you know that we will be expanding our retention in binary newsgroups from 200 to 240 days by the end of the year.
In July of last year, Giganews broke the Usenet retention record by offering 200 days in binary newsgroups. Other recent improvements to the Giganews® Usenet offering include support for custom usernames and the ability to pay for services using the popular PayPal® payment service.
Once the retention upgrades are in place, Giganews' members will enjoy new retention levels across all of our binary newsgroups, including single- and multi- part binary groups. You will be able to access our full retention offering with your news reader, and without having to use message ID based files like NZBs, although such files will work with Giganews if you choose to use them.
We have started the process to upgrade retention in binary newsgroups to 240 days and we expect to have the upgrade complete during September 2008. After the retention upgrade process is complete, retention will grow from 200 to 240 days.
