Q:
Hi,
Just got my Tvix4100 last week. some network issues though ..
Copying files from network using Ftp or Netshare results in poor
network performance ( about 3MB/s ).
The Tvix is wired to a D-link router. 2 other XP machines are attached to the same router. Traffic between the 2 machines is about 9.5MB/s ( 80% from 100BaseT network ). Apparently it's not a problem in the router.
I found this thread posted in forum.tvixbox.com
http://forum.tvixbox.com/viewtopic.php? ... speed+slow
post 5 in this thread replies a question regarding slow ftp network traffic. This reply indicates that "this is how it suppose to work.."
Anyhow, my 3 Q :
1. Is that right ?
2. Why? since Dvico claims 100Mb/sec network card
2. I'm getting the same numbers ( 3MB/s ) when using the netshare copy method.
Just for clarification, do I need to expect the same numbers while using Netshare or do I have a wrong configuration somewhere ?
Thanks in Advance

ANS:
Hello Iior,
1. Yes, it is right. This is due to the HW limit.
2. The device is 100Mbps, but the cpu does not get full speed.
3. Yes, this will be similar. However, for the better video playback, you need to use NFS(NetShare or other).

Eric
