העדכון האחרון של - DIRAC הוא עדכון שלא כדאי ולא רצוי לבצע .

לפני כ 3 ימים יצא עדכון גירסה למערכת הכיול . [ 3.2.0 ] העדכון הכיל - BUG רציני אשר מיד נתפס ע'י המשתמשים
שביצעו את העדכון והפנו לכך את תשומת הלב של התמיכה אשר למחרת כבר הוציאו עדכון מתקן [ 3.2.1 ] .
אבל אז התגלה שינוי / הגבלה מתוכננת של - DIRAC ביכולת של מערכת הכיול לבצע שינויים מתחת ל - 20HZ והשימוש
בווילון עד ל 10HZ כפי שהיה אפשרי עד עכשיו . כלומר שעכשיו המערכת מוגבלת לכיול התדרים הנמוכים עד ל 20HZ ודבר
זה נעשה באופן שרירותי וללא אפשרות נוספת וללא הודעה מוקדמת בכדי לתת אפשרות למשתמשים לא לבצע את העדכון .
לדעתי [ ולא רק ] זאת שטות גדולה שהביאה כרגע לכעס גדול ואין סוף פניות לביטול המיגבלה . בשיחה פרטית עם 2 אנשי
צוות ב - DIRAC לא הצלחתי לקבל תשובה הגיונית מדוע זה נעשה ומדוע עכשיו היות וזה עומד לפגוע בכל רוכשי ומשתמשי
DLBC . נציג - DIRAC ענה לפניות ולשאלות ואני מצרף את תשובתו אבל זה בהחלט לא מספק .
בנוסף . אם יש כאן משתמשים שכבר עדכנו ולא מרוצים מעניין המגבלה אני מצרף כאן קישור לגירסה האחרונה שעדיין
מאפשרת כיול תדרים מלא.

Hi all,
as far as the curtain is concerned the new limitation to 20 Hz (from 10 Hz)
is due to the fact that measurements below that frequency can be unreliable
as affected by ambient noise even if inaudible.
With reference to issues mentioned on the first page of this thread
let me add the following...
1- "Hump" at the low end of the subwoofer response - This is covered by the above,
no correction is applied below 20 Hz
2- No low-pass filter on the LFE channel when Dirac's bass management is engaged
- The low-pass filter has been added in the latest release
3- Dirac Live is incompatible with ceiling-firing Dolby Atmos-enabled speakers
- We might consider a manual option in the future as suggested, it hasn't been
prioritized yet as (if and when it happens) it's not likely that a slightly
incorrect delay on a height speaker will significantly affect the audio experience
4- 3.2.0/3.2.1: Correction limited to 20Hz which leaves the response below uncorrected
- This is intentional, the noise below 20 Hz is often huge and we have
a high pass filter at (I think 10 Hz) to mitigate some of this.

משיחה שהייתה לי בזמנו עם הבעלים של אסקנדו (שמבין דבר או שניים בתחום) לגבי מגבלת ה 20HZ שיש אצלם בתוכנה של הסאבים ,שמותקנת במחשב, הוסבר לי שכיול מתחת ל 20HZ יוצר המון בעיות, מה גם שהמיקרופונים הסטנדרטים ולא אלו שעולים אלפי $$$$, לא ממש עושים עבודה, שניתן להסתמך עליה מתחת ל 20HZ .



תודה על הקישור לגירסה התקינה היא ניתנת גם להורדה ישירות מהאתר של דיראק, כמו כל יתר הגרסאות .

We use latest generation 32bit floating point DSP’s much more powerful than the one used in miniDSP, we offer over 3000 Taps FIR filter inside our DSP. You can read up on forums where people discuss miniDSP super low frequency application limits.



One thing is, to show 10Hz on the user interface, another completely different is the true performance and resolution at this kind of frequency. We could also lower the frequency control to lower frequencies, but we decided not to do that, because if you read up on DSP algorithms, you will see, that there is no good solution to reach good resolution at very low frequencies. Also, equalizing those super low frequencies is not that important, because our ears are not sensitive at those frequencies, and we cant even differentiate 6dB more or less.

We can measure a lot more precise that our ears function due to the fletcher Munson curve.

Even the very best sound cards and measurement Microphones like RME and Earthworks M50 have a significant roll off at those frequencies. So, if you happen to use like most other people uMike1 or 2, those microphones are at those super low frequencies not precise at all, even with the supplied calibration file. Only if you buy high precision B&K or G.R.A.S equipment you can reliably measure those frequencies.

Again, highly questionable in our own experience is, if you hear narrow calibrated super low frequencies. Even if such a sub 20HZ EQ would exist, it would introduce significant phase anomalies (Group delay) to your system, which you would not want to be honest, because those low filters add significant delay due to their nature. You wight want to read up on filter theories.

נשמע שבאמת התועלת מכיול מתחת ל-20Hz מוגבלת אם בכלל קיימת לפי מה שהם אומרים (וזה גם סה"כ די הגיוני), אז לא יודע כמה הייתי אומר שזה לא רצוי לבצע. מצד שני למה להגביל סתם, אם היכולת קיימת? מקסימום לשנות ברירת מחדל אם ברירת המחדל הקודמת הייתה לא סבירה לרוב המוחלט של המשתמשים שמשתמשים בהגדרות ברירת מחדל...

בגדול נשמע שהורידו משהו חסר תועלת, והחזירו בעיקר כדי שלא יתעצבנו עליהם. פחות נראה כמו משהו להתרגש ממנו יותר מדי.
