הי כולם,
התקנתי יובונטו לראשונה, ובינתיים הכל הולך בסדר (הודעה זו נכתבת ביובונטו) חוץ מדבר אחד- רזולוציית הדסקטופ. הרוזולוציה המקסימלית הינה 1024/768.
הבעיה היא, שאני עובד עם מסך 16/9 ולא עם 3/4, אז הכל מתוח לרוחב כדי למלא את המסך. אין בתפריט רזולוציות תואמות 16/9 כלל.
בווינדוס אין לי את הבעיה הזו- יש רזולוציה זמינה של 1360/768 , והיות שהמסך תומך ב Pixel Mapping רואים מצויין את הדסקטופ ללא עיוותים כלשהם- כך שלא מדובר בבעיית חומרה או תאימות כרטיס ומסך.
כמו כן הורדתי את הגירסה העדכנית של הדרייברים של Nvidia, ללא הועיל.

לא הצלחתי למצוא תשובה פשוטה לצערי בשרשורים הנ"ל.. ואני מתחיל לחשוש שאולי אין כזו.

לפי הקובץ נראה שאתה עם דריבר של nvidia. בהנחה שזה אכן המצב, אתה יכול משורת הפקודה להריץ nvidia-settings ולקבל מסך עם GUI יפה בו תוכל לשנות רזולוציות בקלות.
אל תשכח לשמור את הקובץ החדש (save xorg configuration file - או משהו בסגנון).
אפשרות נוספת:
1. גבה את הקובץ xorg.cong ל-xorg.conf.bak.
2. הוסף את השורה:
Option "metamodes" "1366x768 +0+0; 1280x768 +0+0; 800x600 +0+0; 640x480 +0+0"
אחרי השורה: Defaultdepth 24.
3. בצע log out.
4. אתחל את xserver (על ידי בחירה מהתפריט או ctrl+s).
5. בצע לוגין מחדש.
במידה והמסך "נתקע" לך (בגלל שגיאה בקובץ xorg.conf) אתה יכול לקבל ממשק טקסטואלי על ידי לחיצה על alt+F1, ושם כל שעליך לעשות הוא לדרוס את הקובץ השגוי עם קובץ הגיבוי שהכנת מראש.
אל תשכח לשמור את הקובץ החדש (save xorg configuration file - או משהו בסגנון).
