Enable Smart Connect
Enable Smart Connect - Let the router intelligently select the best WiFi band 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz for your WiFi connections. Smart Connect requires the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks to use the same WiFi network name (SSID), security options and password.

Smart Control.

1. Is it true that frequency of 5 GHz is better than 2.4 in terms of speed?
- Yes. The maximum wireless output of the 2.4 GHz is at 600 while the 5 GHz is at 1300 Mbps. The 2.4 Ghz connection is more common than the 5 Ghz connection. If you have noticed, not all your wireless devices can detect the 5 Ghz connection. Also, the 2.4 Ghz connection is more reliable when it comes to distance; however, it is more prone to wireless interference since it is common than the 5 Ghz. While the 5 Ghz connection is less prone to wireless interference.
5GHz is the strongest connection however this is good to use if your wireless device is close or near to the router. If you are using your wireless device all over the house it would be better that you connect it to the 2.4 connection because this has a wide range or coverage when it comes to wireless.
The reason why your devices are not seeing the 5GHz even though it is broadcasting because your devices have 2.4GHz capability, which means they have built in 2.4Ghz wireless card which is common in most wireless devices.
2. I would like to ask whether the making of "Enabled Smart Connect" Is this recommended action to perform to get maximum performance using a combination of WiFi and Wired connection?
- The Smart connect feature will allow you to let the router select the best wireless network band for your wireless devices. The router will separate the slower devices from the fast devices to get the maximum wireless performance for each devices. The router will also perform load balancing to avoid overloading one band. Once this is enabled, the router's 2.4 and 5 GHz network will be on the same wireless settings (SSID, security option & passphrase). The 5 GHz band will copy the 2.4 GHz settings. I would highly recommend that you enable this feature to get the best connection for your wireless devices. Lastly, it will not affect the wired connection.
