כן כן זאת לא טעות. ניתן להשתמש מתוך MCE ב BTV עבור טלויזיה ובMCE עבור מוזיקה ושאר השימושים.
Well - the battle is nearly complete... Here's the weapons that have gotten me to the place where I'm happy to say - the wife flew the system solo last night while I was Christmas shopping and I got a "when are you taking the TW DVR back" when I got home!!! Yippie.
So - here's the steps - with uplifing commentary:
Build system with as much fan less technology as you can (only 2 - 8dBA 60mm fans in the whole Core2Duo MOTD system)
Install MCE 2005Rollup2
Install Tuners and drivers (2- USB DVICO's)
Install BTV 4.5
Install a REAL MCE remote - NOT a Hauppauge MCE flavor (like the MCE-150) - this is not a REAL MCE remote - it's missing several buttons and the ability to "learn" other remote codes
Configure audio card to S/PDIF - Plug the optical S/PDIF cable into the stereo receiver
Plug the DVI-HDMI into the 42" plasma
Pat self on back - You were smart to buy the nVidia card that had the drivers that make the adjustment of the picture to the exact size of your screen a snap (unlike your ATI owning friend and his "non-square pixel" resize trick inside BTV)
Install HIP and the BTV/MCE config file - http://forums.snapstream.com/vb/showthread.php?t=32310 (thanks to the guy who made the file - it does save lots of time)
Fight with remote - swear - realize the driver didn't take and make sure the eHome driver REALLY is rep-laced with the HIP compliant version (if you get 2 "button presses" for every press - you know the driver is the wrong one) Go back and try again - http://www.byremote.com.au/Hip/mce_remote_faq.htm
Trip over all the cables, wires and mess in the living room - have wife get frustrated with "mess"
Run the following .reg file to hide native "My TV" from MCE: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Media Center\Start Menu]
"HideTV"="0"
Deactivate TV function buttons in MCE under HIP (to keep others from launching MCE TV from inside MCE - I remapped them to BTV launch)
Buy and return 4 different antennas to try and fix weak signal reception and curse the "free" antennas Snapstream included with your order
Smarten up and use the link off the HD section of the Snapstream site to get the compass bearings to the transmission towers (here called "Broadcast Hill") and actually aim the awesome free antenna to stop the stuttering
Take a few days off from the project
Return to project refreshed and invigorated by the annoying TW cable box
Reprogram volume buttons and the "TV Power" on remote (make it "learn" the stereo)
Set the tv to "go to sleep" when it has no signal
Change any of the BTV / MCE mappings in HIP to al-ter any of the remote presses you want (see step 10)
Configure MCE and BTV to start at the same time - when windows starts
If you have done anything with the MCE TV section of the interface (any configuration or even exploration - go here and reset the config - http://www.salloway.org.uk/MediaCenter/util/index.htm - step 24 talks more about why)
Most importantly for me - make the PC Power button not close the programs - make it have the PC go into the Intel Quick Resume (Standby) mode (rundll32.exe PowrProf.dll, SetSuspendState)
Realize that for MCE's other picture / video playing / DVD / basically anything functions - to work correctly - the tuner service BTV asked you disable when you installed it really does need to be running... BUT - if you never configure the TV portion of MCE - it never takes over the tuners... MCE works great for all non-TV things... BTV works great for all TV things! (simply acknowledge the warning in BTV and move on - the warning will re-appear every time you restart the PC - but it means nothing since MCE never does anything with the tuners)
Rejoice as you del-ete the last show of the TW cable box and unplug it from the wall...
There are a bunch of other little things (and the devil is always in the details - but this basically is it.
The way you go "between" BTV and MCE's 10' view is - when in BTV - hit the "Green Button" on the remote... When in MCE - go to the additional programs and sel-ect BTV. I never tell BTV to exit Viewscape - and I never exit MCE's shell.
System is easy to use - seems very stab-le - records things when and how I tell it to... no issues as of yet to report... Wife loves it - pictures are easy for her to go look at... we have lots of AVI's of other shows and the like... they are easy to get to too... The last thing I'm thinking about adding (if it has been done somewhere else) is it would be awesome to integrate iTunes into the MCE shell...

וואוו... אם זה באמת עובד (גם בויסטה), ועובד חלק וטוב מבחינת האינטגרציה של BTV בMCE, והEPG (שב"ה יגיע בקרוב) יוכל לעבוד עם זה, זו הקומביניציה הטובה ביותר לכל HTPC. לעניות דעתי, תוכנת הPVR הטובה ביותר יחד עם תוכנת המדיה הטובה ביותר.
האמת שקשה לי לשלוף עכשיו מהמותן. אני פשוט זוכר שמאוד מאוד אהבתי את התוכנה.
דבר אחד שאני כן זוכר הוא הטיפול המעולה בהקלטת סדרות (יותר אופציות כך שהיא לא תקליט שידורים חוזרים גם אם אין שם פרק).

showsqueeze - התוכנה מכווצת לDIVX אוטומטית את ההקלטות שלך. לא מצאתי דרך לעשות זאת בMCE, יכול להיות שקיימת ואני לא יודע פשוט.
