המעניין הוא שלמעשה התחלתי בחיפוש מגבר עבור חבר וכך הגעתי לאתר headphonia ומשם קצרה הדרך עד להזמנת המכשיר עבורי
התלבטתי קשות בין דגם ה 5T הרך והחמים Tube like יותר לדגם ה 5P עם הבס החזק יותר, מכיוון שיש לי כבר את ה- RSA Shadow החלטתי להגדיל בס ולכן נבחר ה- 5P. תצורת המכשיר מאפשרת להחליף לרכיב החמים (עם מגבר ה- AD8620)

Just a few comments on the 5T (AD8620 + Tubeboard). I have been listening for about one week. This is one great amp! This is the first AD8620 amp I have listened to. I also have a 2G and a 4G - they are good but the 5T is in a higher class SQ wise. One of the first things I noticed was the wider soundstage. Normally I do not like a really wide soundstage but the 5T also seems to have depth. To my ears the combination of width and depth of soundstage are implemented perfectly. Vocals blend in well and are not overpowered by wider soundstage. Bass, mids & highs seem to blend together well (really well!). Mids and highs are very clear without any harshness, very smooth, great treble even without the treble boost. (I dislike piercing upper mids & the 4G gave me a bit of trouble in that regard-but the 4G is still a nice amp). I like the 5T bass (I am not a basshead). Seems to have plenty of bass if it's in the recording. I am using Gain = 0, Treble = 0, Bass = II & Bass Freq M or H. I am using Jays - V-Jays portable headphones and like it with the Hifiman HE-300 full size headphones also.
This is a wonderful amp. I think it is extremely musical with all the pieces working well together. The overall presentation is so good. Robert does quality work on his amps, but I was surprised as it is beyond what I expected. Now maybe I am naive and its just the AD8620 that I am listening to for the first time – don’t know. I did really like the AD8397 in the 2G. Hope this helps on your bass questions on the 5T, these are just my impressions as I am not an analytical audio expert! I would rate the soundstage as wonderful, bass as good, mids and highs as super & overall presentation as addicting.
Also: on soundstage – I have a JDS labs C421 OP2227. It’s a nice amp and the soundstage is wide but annoying. It does not seem to be very deep. It seems that they boosted supplemental tracks relative to the main vocal tracks and it drowns out the vocals or minimizes them – kind of annoying to me. I would have tried to defeat that if it had a cross feed but it did not have one. Bass is better on Robert’s amps. Also, Mike on Headfonia reviews criticized the Arrow amps on one point – regarding the soundstage – I don’t see how he could ever do this on the 5T.

I think one factor that should be considered is if you will also be using the Arrow with some harder to drive full size. The AD8620 while has a supposedly warmer more tube like sound, it has less current output capability than the AD8397 used in the 5N and 5P (less than half). The AD8620 will have no problem driving IEM, but the bass will likely also be a bit softer (tube like).
If bass is really what you are after, my suggestion is to go with the 5N, as it retains the same AD8397 used in the 5P, but without the overpowering bass (bass boost should be a bit stronger than the 5T). If do like extreme bass and don't mind it bleeding into other parts of the music, than MAYBE the 5P.
קראתי סקירות מרובות על דגמיה הקודמים של החברה. תמורת האיכות מול המחיר נחשבת לטובה ואולי טובה מאוד.
התכתבתי עם מספר אנשים אשר קבלו את הדגמים החדשים (5P,5T) וקבלתי המלצות חמות.
לגבי הגירסה האחרונה, עניינו אותי מספר תכונות:
- איכות קול טובה (אני מאזין בעיקר לסטרימינג ופחות לקבצי FLAC ו- DSD)
- תאימות ל- IEM רגישות (יש לי את ה- Shure SE846)
- מכשיר משולב DAC+AMP
- סוללה עם טווח פעולה ממושך (אני טס לעיתים)
- Bass Boost
- מימדים קטנים
אם יש לך את הse846 הרי אפשר לחבר פילטר מכאני מיוחד שמגיע עם הקיט של ה846 ולהדגיש בצורה נקייה את הבסים to לא מספיק מודגשים , למה עוד הדגשה בEQ ?
לי יש את הdx160 של beyerdynamic במחיר 1/10 של ה846 הבסים אפילו קצת יותר מידי אבל הצליל נקי בהחלט
ה - AMP/DAC 5P של HEADSTAGE ARROW נחת אצלי אתמול.
איכות קול מצויינת וכן גם הבמה. מאזין בעיקר ל Streaming של RDIO, Spotify, Pandora .
מתחבר ל- LG G3 שלי (USB AUDIO) ללא צורך בדרייברים (כגון ה- UAPP)
BASS BOOST מצויין לטעמי (לאחדים, עשוי להיות חזק מידי בתצורתו המקסימלית)
השוואה מול מגבר RSA SHADOW התרשמות קצרה:
Compared the 5P against RSA Shadow amplifier (amp only, input via audio interconnect silver cable, source LG G3, Shure SE846 IEM, streaming music only, did not try higher quality bit rate) -
- Great sound quality on both (some minor signature differences)
- RSA more warm (bass at minimum on 5P)
- RSA's bass has more attack (bass at minimum on 5P)
- Similar sound stage
- Voices more forwarded on 5P
- Bass more prominent on 5P (when set to level 2 and even 1, on 5P)
- Treble more prominent on 5P (when set to level 2 and even 1, on 5P)
- Ability to control bass boost's frequencies on 5P (low, mid, high)
- RSA Shadow is thicker but has smaller foot print than the 5P
- Some (minor) hiss on 5P at high gains. Goes away when music plays
