יש מספיק תוכנות מסוג זה לאחרונה ובכל זאת רציתי להציע עוד תוכנה חדשה להורדת EPG. כתבתי אותה די הרבה זמן וגם השתמשתי בה הרבה זמן לפני להוציא אותה לחברים באתר.
היו לי כמה סיבות לכתוב תוכנה חדשה:
- רציתי EPG בפורמט ה-native לMCE. בשלב מסויים התעצבנתי מה-bladerunner בגלל הדרישות לפלטפורמות שונות. היו מותקנות אצלי שתי גירסות של Java Runtime, שתי גירסות של .NET ואלו היו רק דרישות מוקדמות! אז חשבתי על תוכנה שלא דורשת כלום, שום פלטפורמה runtime או תלות כלשהיא.
- רציתי לאחד את כל הערוצים בישראל ולהפסיק את הבלגן עם קודים של ערוצים. קובץ יחידchannels.xml מתאר את כל הערוצים ומיספרים שלהם.
- רציתי תמיכה ברוסית (לפחות בYES קיים EPG ברוסית).
- רציתי מסגרת (framework) כך ששינוי והוספת מקור חדש ידרוש רק כתיבת script קטן.
- אם כבר התחלתי לכתוב
רציתי תמיכה מקסימלית בXMLTV, אפשרות להוריד את ה-EPG מכמה מקורות והרבה דברים נוספים.
