"Someone was asking for photo's of the internals; for the HDX-1000
I am in no way affiliated with HDX. I am a National/International Sales Manager for a very high end Audio/Video manufacture. I am into new technology and unfortunately in my industry, NMT's are in the $4k range!
I originally had a Popcorn hour A110 on order. After emailing Popcorn hour and getting a response that I would receive my order sometime near the end of September, which did not sit well with me. I ended up canceling my order with Popcorn hour and placing an order for the new HDX1000.
A few points
1) Shipping is $50 dollars. At first I was concerned that I was overpaying for shipping. The unit shipped on the 8th of September from Shenzhen, China and was delivered September 10th to Southern California. Not bad for 2 day service and getting the unit before the promise date of the 16th did not hurt as well. No duty fees and Customs did not open the package. I had no problem paying the $50 but I do think that HDX should offer 2 different shipping options. $50 express for those who can't wait like me and may $20 or $30 for Standard shipping.
2) My buddy just ordered an HDX1000 and his shipping date is September 20th. I am not sure of the inventory but what I have read is that you should receive your unit after 14 days of HDX receiving payment.
3) Support is available through the HDX1080 support forum and all of the NMT boards. If you submit a tech support ticket through HDX online, one of the HDX techs help you out.
4) The firmware in the HDX1000 I received is 0812
5) So far HDX has been very attentive to questions and concerns of mine. HDX is a small company and I hope when HDX grows, so will the support division. I know some of these companies end up getting so big that support goes to the way side.
If you need additional pictures or have any questions let me know!
