ATI Catalyst 10.7 יצא לאוויר העולם.

הלוואי וATI היו כמו NVIDIA בדרייברים שלהם.....
בכל אופן מה שחשוב לבעלי HTPC הוא שהוסיפו תמיכה בVLC 1.1.1 להאצת H264 בGPU .
(נתמך לבעלי ATI4XXX או ATI5XXX)

אני לא מבין מה הבעייה
גם ATI וגם NVIDIA מוציאות דרייבר כל חודש, ובטא כל שבועיים.

אבל אצל ATI משום מה זה תמיד עושה בעיות שאתה לא מבין למה.
אצלי פעם אחת אחרי שידרוג הרזולוציה ירדה ל640*480 ו16 צבעים, לא מובן למה.
הייתי חייב לאתחל וWIN7 ממש לא צריך לאתחל בשביל כזה דבר.

לגבי ה-640 על 480, גם לי זה קורה לפעמים. אם אתה מתחבר דרך רסיבר, הפתרון הכי פשוט הוא לכבות את הרסיבר, לחכות 2 שניות, ואז להדליק אותו שוב. בד"כ זה חוזר ל-1080P. מעצבן אבל זה פתרון יותר נוח מלעשות ריסטרט למחשב.

בתור אחד שמתקין אותם ברציפות כבר מאז 7.9 , אני חייב לציין שהם עשו קפיצת דרך משמעותית.
היום הדרייברים מאוד יציבים ואין כמעט תקלות.
גם אני מחובר ברסיבר ואין לי שינוי של רזולוציה במערכת ההפעלה.

את הגירסא החדשה של ATI - 10-7 ללינוקס. כן, גם זה נקרא catalyst.

(מהזיכרון- אינני ליד המחשב כרגע):
ניסיון לבנות את החבילות Ubuntu/lucid
נתקע עם שגיאה הקשורה לlibQtGui.so.4
גם ניסיון התקנה אוטומטי נכשל.

הכל קיים. גם בשלב בניית הpackages הוא מוודא ומתקין מה שחסר.
האוטומט ניכשל בשלב בנית הkernel.

מגיגול קצר איזו אתה משדרג או הסרת והתקנת חדש ?
כמו כן ראיתי שיש KERNEL 2.6.34 שהוסיפו בדרייברים תמיכה אליה ועליו הרבה הצליחו...
וגם דבר אחרון מצאתי עוד דרישות :
· XOrg 6.8, 6.9, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, 7.4 or 7.5;
· Linux kernel 2.6 or above;
· glibc version 2.2 or 2.3;
· POSIX Shared Memory (/dev/shm) support is needed for 3D applications;
· You need all of these packages before installing: XFree86-Mesa-libGL, libstdc++, libgcc, XFree86-libs, fontconfig, freetype, zlib and gcc;
· For the best experience, you should also have: the kernel module build environment, either the sources or the headers, and, if you plan to use the RPM packages, you need to make sure the RMP utility is working
