I would get a nice Dan Haschan 'kupa' box and save my money till I have 800 NIS. Then I'd get a Sansui 8080 off yad2. I would really not recommend throwing a good 500 NIS on anything.

Very funny. Yes. I would expect change from 800. First, I am not in the US now - I'm in Tel-Aviv. Keeping an open eye for real vintage on yad2 too. In fact - there was an 8080 from Beit-Shemesh for 800 NIS on yad2 just 8 weeks ago. I was actually thinking of buying it for scavenging (killing it for parts) but at the end I had no heart to do so. However, I talked to the owner - he was willing to bring the unit to Tel-Aviv by him-self for 800.

It's really not worth more. An 8080 would go for $150 on flea bay. 800 NIS is just short of $200 so really 800 NIS is over-priced. Don't underestimate the Sheqel. It's a mean MOFO now.
Second, If you people won't jump at any 30 year old piece of crap sold as 'vintage' for 'mevinim' on yad2 - maybe the prices there were more realistic too. Plus - I get the feeling advertisers on yad2 are expecting a negotiation for the asked price. I'm well aware this is the middle east here - but I do know the pricing

Third, to go back to the initial subject, with all due respect to the Sheqel - 500 is just not enough to get good audio. If this is all you got - get a good bottle of scotch, or a girl or go to a fancy restaurant and have some fun for the money - because it would not be well spent on audio. 500 just doesn't cut it.

yad2 has an SMS service that informs you of any bargain the minute it goes public. Subscribe - and be persistent and maybe you'll get it sooner than you think.

החלפת קבלים לבד גדול עליי - הלחמתי רק דברים פשוטים ואין לי מושג באלקטרוניקה.
אשמח לקבל מושג מחברי הפורום כמה צריכה לעלות החלפת קבלים קומפלט (לקבלי אודיו טובים) למכשיר כזה אצל מישהו מקצועי.
אגב, במכשיר שקניתי החליפו את מחברי כניסת הפטיפון למוזהבים והקבלים הגדולים הם של ELNA מישהו יודע אם אלו המקוריים או אולי כבר הוחלפו? הבעלים הקודמים של המכשיר לא ידע להגיד לי הוא קנה אותו ככה.
